Philosophy

More than a vineyard. A living, working farm.

At Château Charmail, the philosophy is simple: let the land lead. Since 2012, when Sébastien Pineau became head winemaker, we’ve embraced a model of farming that respects the vineyard as a whole ecosystem. We’ve been in organic conversion ever since, committed to biodiversity, low-impact viticulture, and the preservation of natural soils.

We don’t rely on synthetic inputs, and in the cellar, we keep things just as restrained. Native yeasts, gentle extractions, and patient élevage guide the wine from grape to bottle with minimal interference. Our role is to accompany, not control.

From sheep in the vines to bees in the hedgerows, every detail is intentional. Charmail is more than a vineyard : it’s a living farm that speaks through every vintage.
