Masters of Excellence

Our Journey From

  • Tradition

Here, wine has been made for over 300 years, and those who built Charmail worked so that we can now fully express the potential of this place, shaped by its gravel, colluvium, and clay-limestone soils.

Understanding a terroir, planting where it is needed, experimenting, waiting—the vine demands a long timeframe that tests character but delights the spirit. We inherit a legacy that binds us to honor it.

  • Savoir-Faire

At the estate, our expertise drives our pursuit of excellence. A strong and united team takes on the same work year after year, always with greater techniques, precision, and experience. The continuity of the estate rests on this team, deeply connected to Charmail.

While our expertise ensures a wine of the highest quality, it is our innovations that take us to new heights: over the past 40 years, cutting-edge winemaking techniques and innovative aging methods have shaped the unique style of today's Charmail.

  • Philosophy

At Château Charmail, we believe that the greatest asset of our vineyard is the care it receives. This is reflected in practices such as our transition to organic farming, soil management, and eco-grazing during the winter months.

We prioritize respectful, manual work, including planting hedges to promote biodiversity and responsibly managing water resources. Our young vines come from massal selections, meaning they are propagated from existing vines on the estate, ensuring the vineyard retains all the genetic potential it has developed over time.
